A Quiet Place: Day One First Trailer: One of the best horror film series of recent years makes a brilliant return

After four years and a delayed cinema release, the prequel to "A Quiet Place" awaits us soon. The first trailer for the film has now been released, promising all kinds of excitement.

With “A Quiet Place“, “The Office” star John Krasinski made an extremely successful horror directorial debut: the film took in 341 million US dollars at the international box office, received 83% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes and a whopping 96% from critics. It therefore comes as no surprise that there was a great desire for a sequel, which was fulfilled in 2020 with “A Quiet Place 2”, which also marked the first joint acting appearance of Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt before “Oppenheimer“.

In addition to a third part, an “A Quiet Place” prequel has also been announced: “A Quiet Place: Day One“. However, the prequel will not be directed by Krasinski, but by “Pig” director Michael Sarnoski. However, Krasinki is once again involved as co-screenwriter and producer. The first trailer for the prequel has now been released, giving us some exciting impressions. You can watch the trailer here:

What awaits us in “A Quiet Place: Day One”

As the title suggests, “A Quiet Place: Day One” is about the first day of the invasion of the noise-sensitive monsters that have already taught us to fear in the two previous works. The exact plot of the prequel is currently being kept under wraps. The trailer suggests that the film will tell the events from the perspective of Sammy, played by Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, who has to fight for her life on the first day of the invasion in New York. In addition to Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn (“Stranger Things“), Alex Wolff (“Hereditary”) and Djimon Hounsou (“Gladiator“) will also be seen in the leading roles.

After the 2023 release was postponed due to the Hollywood strikes, “A Quiet Place: Day One” will finally be released in cinemas on 28 June 2024 (USA). Although you could probably watch the film without any prior knowledge, it is definitely worth watching “A Quiet Place” and “A Quiet Place 2”: both films are available to stream on Paramount+ or on the Paramount+ channel on Amazon Prime Video.
