Deadpool 3 Diet Plan: This is how much Hugh Jackman has to eat for his Marvel muscles

Becoming Wolverine again demanded a lot from Hugh Jackman. He documented his training on his social media channels - as well as the food he ate in preparation for the role.

Marvel fans, especially “X-Men” fans, can look forward to Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in “Deadpool 3“, after he originally announced his retirement from the role after “Logan” seven years ago. To mark the end of filming, he has now shared a video in which his Wolverine beard is shaved off – accompanied by a thank you to the film crew and a joke about his training and diet program in preparation for his return to the role.

To get back in shape for Wolverine, the Australian ate mostly steamed vegetables and fish – “four times a day for six months”. Back in March last year, he shared his “Deadpool 3”-specialized diet plan with his fans:

“Bulking. A day in the life. Thank you Chef Mario for helping me stay healthy and properly fed whilst .. Becoming. Wolverine. Again.”

The pictures in his X post show his prepared meal, each labeled: from “Chicken burger with sweet potatoes (1,000 [kcal])” to “Black bass with vegetable rice and herb sauce (2,000 [kcal])” to “Patagonian salmon with potatoes and hot sauce (2,100 [kcal])” – he ate this spread out over the course of a day.

Becoming Wolverine again was a challenge for Hugh Jackman

“Deadpool 3” marks the tenth film in which Jackman will be seen in the role of the clawed mutant. When he first played Wolverine in “X-Men”, the actor was around 32 years old. Now he is 55 years old – so it is clear that the hard training for the character is no longer as easy for him as it was around 20 years ago. After all, his age was also one of the reasons why he wanted to give up the Wolverine role in 2017.

However, the actor always took the challenge of training with humor, as in this X-Post, in which he jokingly compared his training to that of his “Deadpool 3” co-star Ryan Reynolds:

“[Ryan Reynolds] He’s only 46. I’m older. But it’s not a competition.”

“Deadpool 3” opens in cinemas on July 26 (USA). You can sweeten the wait by streaming all seven “X-Men” films, all three “Wolverine” films and the two previous “Deadpool” films with a Disney+ membership.
