Japanese media group KADOKAWA recently announced its most profitable franchises in the first quarter of the 2024 financial year.
This time, the “Delicious in Dungeon” franchise came out on top after generating an impressive turnover of more than two billion yen (around 12.3 million euros) in the relevant period from April 1 to June 30, 2024. It also dominated the two categories “Publishing” (manga and light novels) and “Anime/Film” (TV, streaming, Blu-rays), followed by “KonoSuba: God’s Blessing On This Wonderful World!”, one of KADOKAWA‘s generally most popular and successful franchises, came in second place.
Even though “Oshi no Ko” only came in third place, this can probably be seen as the biggest surprise of the quarterly report, as the ranking results purely from the sales of the anime adaptation. The original manga is distributed in Japan by publisher Shueisha.
