Created by Vivienne Medrano, Hazbin Hotel is an animated music series for adults on Prime Video set in hell.
The series follows Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen), the princess and hopeful savior of hell.
While Heaven sends an army of angels to Hell every year to exterminate demons, Charlie dreams of a better solution to the underworld’s overpopulation. That’s why she has opened the Hazbin Hotel to rehabilitate sinners and send them to heaven.
Helping her (voluntarily or forced) are her friend Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz), Angel Dust (Blake Roman), the bartender Husk (Keith David), the chambermaid Niffty (Kimiko Glenn), Sir Pentious (Alex Brightman) and the radio demon Alistor (Amir Talai).
Has Hazbin Hotel been renewed for season 2?
Yes, Hazbin Hotel has already been renewed for a second season. Amazon Studios had already renewed the series before the premiere of the first season.
There is no release date for the next season yet. However, according to The Mary Sue, Erika Henningsen hinted in an Instagram story in January that production is underway, which makes it likely that we will see new episodes by 2025.
At this point, little is known about season 2. However, based on the ending of season 1, we should see a lot more of Lilith and the Vees in season 2.
As previously mentioned, the series has been renewed, but we have yet to see when it will be released. We’ll be sure to update this page in the future as soon as more information is known!
How the second season of Hazbin Hotel can get even better
The first season of Hazbin Hotel was a hit with both fans and critics, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways in which a second season could improve on the first.
Now that all of the main characters and conflicts have found their footing in the first season, they can be explored more deeply instead of the plot focusing more on exposition and building relationship dynamics.
Also, the show can benefit from the creative team and actors being familiar with each other, which helps the show develop a more consistent rhythm.
Now that the major facets of the show are established, the second season could set it apart even more by taking even bigger and more experimental paths with the plot and characters.
Unfortunately, fans will probably have to wait a few more years for new episodes, but the series has great potential to be even better the second time around.
