“See” is a science fiction drama series set in a dystopian future in which humanity is almost extinct due to a virus and has become largely blind due to a mutation. Sight is considered a myth and when it becomes known that the two adopted children of main character Baba Voss, played by Jason Momoa, possess this power, a war breaks out between the remaining tribes. “See” was released on Apple TV+ directly at the launch of the streaming service in November 2019. Apple has since extended the large-scale epic by two more seasons. We’ll tell you here whether there will be a fourth season.
In addition to sci-fi series such as “See”, the series landscape offers many other formats worth watching.
See Season 4: What has happened so far
Attention: Spoiler warning for seasons 1 to 3 of “See”!
In season 2 of “See“, Baba Voss had to protect his tribe and his adopted children Haniwa and Kofun from his brother Edo Voss, played by Dave Bautista. Both were given the gift of sight at birth and Baba’s brother intended to build a new world of the seeing with their help. In the finale of the second season, the two faced off against each other. Edo left him no diplomatic option and so Baba had to kill his brother against his own will. The third season begins about a year after these events, with Baba Voss having gone into isolation in order to come to terms with what has happened and not endanger anyone else. But the Trivantians, a hostile tribe, have used science to build an extremely destructive weapon with which they want to destroy everything and everyone who stands in their way. Baba is forced to return to Paya to protect his family and fight one last battle.
Will there be See Season 4?
Without giving too much away about the outcome of season 3, it’s safe to say that this one also ends in a huge battle and lots of drama. However, there will be no reunion with Baba Voss, his children and the dystopian world of “See”. Various media portals such as Screenrant, Collider and Deadline have already spoken of a final season in advance and Apple itself is also promoting the third season as the finale. Lead actor Jason Momoa has not officially given a reason as to why the series will end with the third season. Showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Trooper, however, says: “We are thrilled to share this epic final chapter of See, which delivers all the intense drama, riveting action and heartfelt emotion fans have come to expect, as well as what we think is a deeply satisfying conclusion to our story,” he said. “Building a world without sight was a particularly unique and continuous challenge that was met through the passionate and thoughtful collaboration of a phenomenally talented and diverse team both in front of and behind the camera.”)
