After it was announced a few weeks ago that the anime adaptation of “Kaiju No. 8” would be getting a sequel, the first details are now known.
Start next year
The sequel will therefore be a second season, which will start on Japanese television in the course of 2025 and will be shown in on Crunchyroll as a simulcast. In the same year, a compilation film summarizing the events of the first season and a new original episode entitled “Hoshina’s Day Off” will be released in Japanese cinemas. The people involved in the production of the new projects and the respective launch dates have yet to be announced. We will keep you up to date as usual. Studio Production I.G, directed by Shigeyuki Miya (“Blood Lad”) and Tomomi Kamiya (“Good Librarian”), was responsible for the production of the twelve-part first season, which aired on Japanese television from April to July 2024 and is available on Crunchyroll.
